Digital Certificate

At the end of the course, you take a test via your mobile phone and then immediately receive a certificate if you pass the result.
Remote learning
We offer a distance education where the course content is the same as when we are on site and you can be equally involved and also ask questions. The only difference is that practical extinguishing is not available and you will NOT receive the certificate until you have completed the practical extinguishing.

What is the difference between the Fire Protection Association‘s "Hot Work" and SVEBRA’s "FireHazard- Hot Work"?

There is no marked difference for you who are trained. Both of these courses meet the insurance companies’ requirements. Flammable Work is a more modern and industry-adapted model that was developed so that the participant will, on the one hand, gain deeper basic knowledge and increased competence for his particular workplace.

Does Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work meet the insurance companies’ conditions for performing temporary Flammable-Hot Work?

Yes, FireHazard – Flammable Work meets the requirements set out in the insurance conditions just like the Hot Work ®(Hete arbeten) training. Anyone who has been trained and approved and holds a valid certificate is authorized to perform temporary Hot work.

What is FireHazard- Hot work?

It is a training course for all work steps that in temporary workplaces lead to heating and sparking and can risk causing a fire. For example welding, soldering, etcetera. Corresponds to the training Heta Arbeten ®

Does Flammable- Hot Work follow the insurance conditions and other rules?

Yes. Lawyers and several experts have reviewed the insurance terms, safety rules and training plan to ensure we are following it. SVEBRA has had a meeting with representatives from insurance companies who sit on the training committee for Heta Arbeten ® and agreed on the following:

If a fire occurs during temporary flammable Hot work, the insurance companies will check whether the person who performed the work has followed the insurance conditions, for example whether you have a permit, that you have cleaned up etc. They also review safety rule number 1, authorization:

”Eligibility training must be completed according to the plan decided by the insurance companies’ and the Fire Protection Association’s training committee for flammable Firehazard hot work”

In order for compensation not to be paid out in connection with the text above in safety rule 1, the insurance companies must prove that the fire occurred because the executor underwent the Flammable Work training and that the training plan was not followed. This review is also carried out by the insurance companies at the Fire Protection Association’s Hot Work ®.

Is "FireHazard - Hot Work" known to the insurance companies, as a training that meets their requirements?

Yes, insurance companies have updated their policies and know the training as much as Heta Arbeten ®

What is required to obtain a certificate for FireHazard- Hot Work and perform temporary flammable work?

The executor must attend a one-day training course and take a certification test with an approved result. The certificate consists of a plastic card or that the executor becomes searchable in the database that is displayed when a flammable work is to be carried out.

What is required to perform temporary FireHazard- Hot work?

There must be an organization consisting of the permit manager, contractor and any fire watch. All must have completed the training within the concept of Flammable Work or the Fire Protection Association’s training Hot Work ® and hold a valid certificate.

Can a permit manager who has completed the FireHazard- Hot Work training approve a contractor or fire guard who has completed the Fire Protection Association’s "Hot Work" training?

Yes, a permit officer can approve the contractor and the fire guard if he has completed the Heta Arbeten ® training and holds a valid certificate.

How long is the certificate for the executor valid?

The certificate for Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work and Hot Work ® is valid for 5 years from approved training.

Work with a risk of fire

An education in Flammable FireHazard-Hot Work provides the certificate that the insurance companies require to be allowed to perform temporary work that may involve heating and the risk of fire. Just like HetaArbeten ®

No difference on the certificate between HetaArbeten ® & Brandfarliga- Heta Arbeten.

When work with a risk of fire is to be carried out, there must be a permit manager who must ensure that a special permit is signed by the person who is to carry out the work and any fire watcher who is to supervise the work. Everyone must have a valid certificate that must be verified before the work begins. The permission list is a checklist where you go through the safety rules that must be followed. Everyone involved in the work goes through the permit list and makes a risk assessment of the work.

Certification

A valid certificate is required to carry out work with a risk of fire, write a permit or be a fire watcher. To become certified, you can attend the Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work training. During the training, a certification test is carried out and if the result is approved, you are authorized to carry out the work.

HetaArbeten ® & Brandfarliga- HetaArbeten gives you the same authorization

You can prove your eligibility by searching for your eligibility in the database to which you will have access after the training or show your certificate with a plastic card that you will receive when you sign the authorization form.

Certificates and authorizations

First, you need to take a test consisting of 16 questions using your digital device. When you have passed this, you must carry out the practical extinguishing 6 months before or after to get an approved certificate that gives you the authority to be responsible for, monitor and carry out hot work and Flammable Work. The validity period is 5 years.

The Flammable Works & Hot Works ® certificate correspond to each other.

What is the difference remotely versus being on site?

As of 1 May 2022, it is again mandatory to complete the practical extinguishing exercise in order to obtain a valid certificate. The distance learning course contains only the theoretical part and it is mandatory to complete the practical extinguishing exercise 6 months before or after the theoretical part.

You will therefore receive the certificate after completing both the theoretical and practical part.

After you have booked the course, you will receive a confirmation of the booking, approximately three days before the start of the course, you will receive an invitation via e-mail. In the invitation, you will receive a link that you click on to connect to the ”classroom”. Attached in the same email you will find course literature and a manual for the meeting program Zoom. The Zoom meeting program is completely free and easy to use.

In order for you to be able to participate in the distance education, you need a working webcam, microphone & preferably headphones for the best possible sound. It doesn’t matter where you are, at home or at work, the most important thing for you to think about is sitting undisturbed and in a quiet environment with an internet connection.

Flammable work is led by a teacher, this means that you can ask questions, communicate with the instructor and the other participants just like in a physical classroom. You also have the option of using the chat function if you prefer.

For the Flammable Work course, it is mandatory to sit on your own digital device and show valid identification.

Tip: About 15 minutes before the training starts, you can click on the link in the invitation, then you will end up in a waiting room waiting to be admitted by the course leader. Please take this opportunity to check that your technology is working as it should.

Course day

The instructor gives a short presentation about himself and the day’s arrangement.
Two birds with one stone; the participants introduce themselves to check that the technology is playing, while we get to know each other.
Talks about the difference between Hot Work ® & Flammable- Hot Work.
Before each break, the instructor sends a small ”quiz” to ensure that all participants are following along.
During the course, you will also have group work, which the instructor then divides you into different group rooms.
With distance learning, there is no practical extinguishing!

In the unlikely event that you are disconnected from Zoom, you can always use the same link you received in your invitation to return to class.

What do I need to prepare?

Starting Zoom

In the invitation that you received by e-mail, we attach the course literature & instructions on how Zoom works.
Click on the Zoom link in the invitation. The link takes you to the waiting room where you should take the opportunity to test your technology & connection. The waiting room opens approximately 15 minutes before the start of the course.
When you start Zoom for the first time, you may need to confirm that the program has access to audio & video.
At the appointed time, the course leader will let you into the classroom where the course will be held.
Once inside the classroom, all participants and the course leader will be seen and heard. You must have the camera on and the microphone off (click on the microphone icon/camera at the bottom left to turn off/on the device).
Now all participants should be present and connected without technical fuss. Should there still be any problems, you can always call the instructor or write to the chat, which is always staffed by the course leader & administrator.

Who needs Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work?

All work that may involve a risk of fire at the workplace requires a valid certificate. These works can be, for example, welding, soldering, roofing or work with tools that can develop heat or sparks.

Our training is adapted to conditions in various industries. Those who take the Flammable-Hot Work training gain an understanding of risk situations in their particular workplace and can directly apply the knowledge in their work. After an approved result in Flammable-Hot Work, you will receive a certificate that meets the insurance companies’ requirements. This certificate is a must for those of you who work with tools that develop heat/sparks and can cause a fire in a building, forest or vehicle.

The certificate allows you to issue a permit, act as a fire guard & perform the Flammable-Hot work, but not at the same time!

Even those of you who have the certificate should bear in mind that the certificate has a validity period of 5 years, therefore you should also renew this every 5 years. We also recommend that during your five years as a certified person you stay up to date by reading the course literature / handbook at regular intervals before a hot job. In this way, you keep yourself risk-aware & facilitate decision-making.

Flammable- Hot Work corresponds to the fire protection association’s traditional Hot Work ®

Facts about the education

Since 1990, a valid certificate is required to carry out work with a risk of fire. The insurance companies together with the Fire Protection Association created the course ”HetaArbeten ®” which you are probably familiar with.

In August 2019, the course ”Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work” was launched, the purpose of the new training is to keep accidents at the lowest possible level and to create a more modern and more industry-specific alternative that complies with the conditions. In addition, integration with ID06 is available.

The certificate for Flammable FireHazard- Hot Work and Hot Work ® correspond to each other and both meet the insurance companies’ rules!
